One guest at the celebration day networking event for our most recent cohort of the King’s Trust 'Get Ready for Green Construction' programme asked “how was this all possible in just two weeks?”
So here is the recipe for an engaging, fun, comprehensive and practical programme to help great people get to work on green buildings:
👷Take 17 highly motivated young people keen to progress their careers and improve our built environment
💪 Add the unrivalled platform of the UK’s preeminent youth development charity, the The King's Trust
🧱 Weave together a programme of green jobs awareness, employability, AI literacy, transferable work skills, eco-design teamwork and practical training in bricklaying, carpentry and decorating, all delivered in the context of green jobs in construction
🏗️ Layer in site visits and volunteers from Mace, Mott MacDonald, Arup and Turner & Townsend
🪜Help each person develop their personal progression plan to ensure they can keep moving forward
📲 Add on support like our AI powered Green Skills Coach and a follow on CSCS course
🌍 Put it all in the Fleot Green Skills Hub, Community Coworking unique City based venue for green and social impact events & programmes. Could we really run bricklaying in the courtyard? Yes, we can!
▶️ When ready, bring in a diverse group of construction, sustainability and career experts to talk to the learners about what they have achieved and want to do next
So what is the outcome? As one participant Nadia Adjei Eyison put it “the King's Trust Green Construction programme has been a life changing experience, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow”
Drop us a line if you have opportunities for these next-gen superstars, keen to support the next programme or simply don’t want to miss out on the next celebration day.a new initiative helping young people discover sustainable careers in the built environment.

The programme is part of a three-year framework contract funded by The King’s Trust and delivered by a dynamic consortium of partners: Community Coworking, The Fleot Green Skills Hub, GetZero, Reputy, Gerry Langdon & Williams Consultancy. Want to be part of the green transition?
